Things to Know
Below is a list of helpful things to know before calling our technical support numbers.
- Know your user name.
- Know your password.
- Know the telephone number your Internet service is billed to.
- Know what type of connection you have (Dial-up or DSL).
- Know what browser you are using (Internet Explorer, Netscape,
Mozilla Firefox, etc).
- Know what brand and model of Modem or Router that you have.
- Know what operating system your computer uses (Windows XP, Windows
2000, Windows 98, Windows 95, Mac OS, etc).
- Know what e-mail software program you are using (Outlook Express,
Netscape Messenger, Eudora, etc).
- Write down the complete error message that you are receiving,
including any specific error numbers.
- Make a note of any new hardware or software that you have installed
recently.
- If possible, be at your computer with it powered on when you call
us.
